Audio tracks from the music in the service (NOTE-these recordings are from an iPhone placed on the altar underneath a frontal; the choir is far far away, and the Bishop and the Congregation is between the recorder and the choir!)
- Allein Gott (organ - John Ruch)
- Cantemos al Senor (coro)
- King of Glory (Matt Bonaker solo)
- I choose love (choir)
- Westminster Choir Chime with Hymn 518: Christ is made the sure foundation
- Psalm 72 (with singing bells)
- Ubi caritas (in 2 parts, before and after the Gospel)
- Yo quiero agua vida (coro)
- This little light of mine
- Llevemos al senor (coro)
- Draw the circle wide (choir with solo by Serene, plus you can hear the Bishop singing along!)
- Sanctus: Santo, santo, santo
- Fraction: Eat this bread/como el pan
- Hoy es dia de fiesta (coro)
- African Alleluia (choir)
- I am the bread of life
- Spirit of the living God
- Somos el cuerpo de Cristo/we are the body of Christ (coro and choir)
- Hail thee, festival day (Hymn 225) If any percussion, may it be stately.
- People of God (VF Hymn 109)
- Psalm 104
- Cantemos al Senor (Flor y Canto Hymn 627)
- Hoy es un dia de fiesta (Flor y Canto Hymn 550) The Coro doesn't sing this one with such speed. It's a little more relaxed.
- We are one in the spirit I sang with Brad Phillips on his arrangement of this song from the 60s. I like the reggae vibe, but probably can't pull it off without a bassist. Still it might inform how we perform the song.
- Santo, santo, santo
- She sits like a bird
- El espiritu
- Spirit of the living God
- Somos el cuerpo
A QUIRE IN QUARANTINE...
The music ministry at St. Edward's continues to be extremely active, though not LIVE. We are still making church! Under the Diocesan guidelines, we will be making music in-person again on June 27. Until then, each week we work to create virtual music that enhances the liturgy by using past recordings, new instrumental tracks, and hymns and anthems the choir members record individually and then send in to be mixed together into a final music file (a painstaking "phone-it-in" process). We are making our best efforts to create liturgy and music specifically for St. Edward's that is BY US and FOR US, and each week we continue to involve 20+ people in the making of our worship services. We hope our ministry still reaches your hearts, minds and spirits, and we look forward to June 27when we will be able to play and sing live with the congregation again!

A QUIRE IN QUARANTINE...
The music ministry at St. Edward's continues to be extremely active, though not LIVE. We are still making church! Diocesan guidelines do not yet allow for wind instruments or in-person choir activity. Yet each week we work to create virtual music that enhances the liturgy by using past recordings, new instrumental tracks, and hymns and anthems the choir members record individually and then send in to be mixed together into a final music file (a painstaking "phone-it-in" process). This is not a fully satisfactory musical outcome for us as life-long music-makers, but we are making our best efforts to create liturgy and music specifically for St. Edward's that is BY US and FOR US, and each week we continue to involve 20+ people in the making of our worship services. We hope our ministry still reaches your hearts, minds and spirits, and we look forward to the day when we will be able to play and sing live with the congregation again! In the meantime, we invite all members of the parish (and their friends and family) to participate in the music ministry each week. Please let us know if you'd like to participate. Send an email to [email protected] for details.
We appreciate your ideas and feedback!

TIPS TO STAY IN GOOD VOICE WHEN NOBODY'S ALLOWED TO SING IN A GROUP
Choose some (or choose ALL) of the activities below.
- Take a walk every day (or do yoga to strengthen or do something aerobic to help with breath support).
- Do some simple warmups. The simplest thing to do are swoopy sirens up and down the voice. (Bonus points: Do the vocalises like we did for warmups every Thursday, like "I love to sing," or "Ha ha haaaaaaa"', etc., going up and down by half step.)
- Include some breathing exercises, too. (Maybe instead of singing "Happy birthday" when you are washing your hands, hiss the song - like a flat tire - and be aware of the muscles in the lower abs doing their work.)
- Sing with the radio EVERY DAY.
- Sing hymns every day.
Agenda
- Catch up: 7:45 - 8:06
- Announcements
- Discuss stuff
- Recording - family and friends are welcome to join us at ANY time! Forward the choir email - they can even access INSTRUCTIONS here

- Benediction
*Choir members may SPEAK or type their petitions in the chat box after each petition is read
We pray for our Church. *
Let us offer prayers for our nation and for the welfare of the whole world. *
We pray for any who suffer and for those in any trouble. *
We pray for those who have died, those who are dying, for those who minister to them. *
We give thanks to You, O God, for hearing our prayers. We give thanks to You that you never abandon us, that we are never alone, and that you share our burdens with us. We give thanks to you for the gift of our church, for music and our choir. We give thanks for the unexpected blessings we continue to receive in this era of pandemic, social, and political unrest. *
ALL
Bless, O Lord, us your servants who minister in your temple. Grant that what we sing with our lips, we may believe in our hearts; and what we believe in our hearts we may show forth in our lives. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
- Love ya, see ya, g'night!

INSERT PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE PICTURE
There will be a music insert in this Sunday's bulletin for the Sequence Hymn. I remember some years ago there was a commercial series for Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Each commercial would feature two people walking around with their eyes on their snacks instead of on the world around them. A crash was inevitable. One surprised person would say, "You got your chocolate in my peanut butter!" The other would reply, "You got your peanut butter in my chocolate!" Well, this Sunday we caused the WORDS from Hymn 692 to collide with the TUNE from Hymn 292. So here is our "Reese's Cup hymn."
